In Uncertain Times, Get Curious & Automattic acquires Clay
Linear raises $82M at a $1.25B valuation, Anytype releases API and MCP Server, how to compare yourself with others fairly, and more in this week's issue of Creativerly.

My name is Philipp and you are reading Creativerly, the internet corner where I unpack my musings, curate and write about noteworthy apps and software, and explore the latest trends in design and tech.
Hey and welcome to Creativerly 330 👋
Every now and then I check my web analytics dashboard for Creativerly, for which I use Fathom Analytics*, an ethical, and privacy-focused Google Analytics alternative, and of which I have been a happy customer since five years. While browsing through the dashboard, I discovered a trend I am super happy about: it seems like more and more readers are finding Creativerly, and discovering my post on platforms like Bluesky and Mastodon. And that makes me happy, especially since I let loose a bit with posting on those platforms about Creativerly and sharing my posts there, as of recently.
After leaving X behind, a large portion of my traffic simply vanished. I have been posting on X quite frequently, shared my posts, and mentioned the apps and companies I wrote about, which usually led to them reposting and therefore increasing my reach. When I moved to Mastodon and Bluesky, loads of people where still on X, so most of my posts on the new social networks went into the void. Therefore, it is super exciting and motivating to see that the traffic coming from those networks is slowly increasing.
I should post there, especially from the Creativerly accounts, more often, share my posts, my writing, and get it out there. There is always the chance to be discovered by someone who finds value in what you are creating. I should definitely get back at posting more frequently.
In case you are on Mastodon or Bluesky too, you can find Creativerly as well as my personal accounts there too (Creativerly on Mastodon, Creativerly on Bluesky, me on Mastodon, me on Bluesky). Let's connect.

Fresh Updates & News
Linear raises $82M Series C at a $1.25B valuation →
Linear has quickly became one of the most popular apps out there serving modern tech and product teams at early-stage startups but also big and established corporations. For the past six years, Linear has constantly set high standards when it comes to applying craft and building one of the most beloved apps. To build up on their success, Karri Saarinen, co-founder and CEO, announced that Linear raised an $82M Series C at a $1.25B valuation. The round has been led by Accel with continued support from Sequoia and 01A, while new partners like Seven Seven Six, Designer Fund, Indie.vc, TK Ventures, Soleio, Jeff Weinstein, Ikka Paananen, and Lauren and Vlad Loktev joined in too.
In his announcement post, Karri Saarinen shares that over 15,000 companies–including OpenAI, CashApp, Ramp, Scale AI, and Boom–choose Linear over legacy tools. Linear will use this Series C to mark their position as a company that is high growth, profitable, and a standard for modern companies. According to the announcement post, this means AI is coming to Linear, among other things. In the foreseeable future, Linear is aiming to do two things, Linear for Agents, and Linear AI. Linear for Agents means that Linear will be the place where agents can be deployed and managed to act across product workflows, while Linear AI aims to make the wide-range of product-building workflows that are already available in linear, more effective or automated.
You can check out the linked announcement post above to read more about this new investment round.
Anytype releases API and MCP Server →
Anytype just introduced two major milestones: the release of the official Anytype API and the launch of the Anytype MCP Server. Both are available directly through Anytype's desktop app. Those releases are marking a significant step toward making Anytype more flexible and ready for new kinds of interaction.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server enables AI assistants to seamlessly interact with the Anytype API using natural language. The Anytype MCP Server gives you the possibility to manage your knowledge base through conversation, powered by models and tools you control. The Anytype API runs entirely on localhost, operates fully offline, which means you can build and use integrations without any cloud dependencies. With the API you can write custom scripts, plugins, and dashboards, connect LLMs and local agents, or collaborate on selected content while keeping everything stored locally.

Mental Wealth
❯ We talk a lot about being ‘resilient’. But what does it actually mean? – “In a world with political polarisation, war, extreme weather events and increasing costs of living, we need to be able to cope as individuals and communities. Our capacity to cope with very real stressors in our lives – our resilience – can determine whether we thrive, just survive, or are deprived of a reasonable quality of life.”
❯ How to compare yourself with others fairly – “The inevitability of ageing stood out to me in a series of incidents. Some friends from college were on their way over for a weekend visit, and I decided to grab a glass of water before they arrived. This seemingly ordinary task turned out to be a harsh reality check. As I walked to the kitchen, I glimpsed my greying hair in the hallway mirror. Who was that old-timer? When I reached for a glass on a high shelf, I grimaced from the back pain that comes from such an apparently Herculean feat for a man my age. And when I finished my water and went to put the empty glass in the dishwasher, I had to grab my glasses to determine whether the blurry text atop the appliance said ‘clean’. Yikes.”
❯ Product Purgatory: When they love it but still don’t buy – “Most people say nice things when you pitch your product. “Oh, that looks really great! I like it, but we’re not buying right now. Maybe call back later in the year?” It’s hard to tell you that your baby is ugly.”
❯ In Uncertain Times, Get Curious – “Questions flow from curiosity. If we want to live and love the questions of our lives—How to live a life of purpose? Who am I in the aftermath of a big change or transition? What kind of person do I want to become as I grow older?—we must first ask them into conscious existence.”
