Learning to Think in a Made-Up World & Publish your files from Finder to the web, instantly
Enterprise-ready wiki for modern teams, the power of human connection in a distracted world, why we doubt ourselves, and more in this week's issue of Creativerly.
My name is Philipp and you are reading Creativerly, the internet corner where I unpack my musings, curate and write about noteworthy apps and software, and explore the latest trends in design and tech.
Hey and welcome to Creativerly 359 👋
First week of 2026 is already in the books, and I have to admit, I still feel a bit tired, getting up to speed, and sorting things out. Usually, I like to take the first couple of days of the new year, to sit down and kind of do some planning regarding all the side-projects I have going on. However, my head is full with other stuff, there is so much going on, that I am thankful for every single minute I have not to spend sitting at my desk in front of my Mac, and rather get out and do some other stuff. I deeply enjoy working on side-projects, and as of recently I am hitting new milestones with them. But to make sure I keep enjoy working on them, I have to first make sure to stay sane. And that is the priority right now.
One thing after the other, one step at a time, one day at a time.
And while I am thinking about staying sane, all my side-projects can even act like a gateway to sanity. Whenever so many different things, thoughts, struggles, and hurdles are raining down on me as there are right now, it feels great to simply put that stuff aside, and dive into a couple of hours building my personal app to stay on top of the swift scene of cycling (which I am planning to open up the TestFlight for soon, and I am currently in the progress of updating my personal website with some fresh new designs). So, those side-projects act as a form of "active rest" for my mind, something that is engaging but draining, compared to dealing with my main work or all the other stuff going on right now. And just like that, as I am sharing a glimpse into an upcoming project of mine, I am getting already excited and motivated to get back working on that project.
It is important set boundaries between work, side projects, and personal time. I am prioritizing a balance between all those things. And to achieve that, instead of setting myself rigid goals, I am focusing on themes this year, themes that fuel my life, my relationships, my side-projects, and also work.
Anyway, I hope that your year has been off to a good start! I am excited for what is about to come.

Tinydot is a super interesting service that gives you the possibility to publish files to the web by syncing folders on your Mac to your tinydot site. Tinydot handles hosting and delivery, and you can even set up a custom domain if you want to. As of writing this, tinydot is in beta and completely free to use. ❯ Learning to Think in a Made-Up World – “We are living in a chaotic time with global upheavals, political realignments, quickening technological advancement, and information overload. Further, AI is developing at an accelerated pace.”
❯ The Power of Human Connection in a Distracted World – “What keeps us happy and healthy as we go through life? If you could invest in just one thing that would help you and your family thrive, where would you put your time and energy? These questions might seem simple, but their answers hold profound implications for how we live our lives and raise our children. Science gives us a surprisingly clear answer: the quality of our relationships matters more than almost anything else.”
❯ Why We Doubt Ourselves – “Of all the emotions I struggle with, the toughest one is Self-Doubt. To give you an idea of our tenuous relationship, here are some of the questions Self-Doubt routinely asks me: “Hey, you. Yeah, you. Will your work ever be good enough?” “Do you really think you’ll be able to grow this blog into something financially viable?” “Shouldn’t you just give up now and do something else instead?” These questions are no fun to face, and the most frustrating part is that they can appear at any random moment.”
❯ How to Learn Taste – “In a world where AI can generate the solution to many problems, human creativity may depend on finding the right problems to solve.”
